Job description

Our client is looking for a hands‑on Business Systems Analyst to be a key link between Finance and IT, supporting and enhancing a mature, on‑premise Infor LN 10.7 environment. Reporting to the Finance/Business Systems leader, you will work alongside a seasoned peer who has been carrying an overstretched workload and is eager to welcome a true partner.

This is not a greenfield implementation or a blue‑sky strategy role. It’s a chance to roll up your sleeves in a complex, multi‑entity ERP landscape shaped by mergers and ongoing integrations. You’ll help stabilize and optimize finance and project/manufacturing processes, drive incremental improvements, and close a critical gap around documentation and functional analysis.

If you enjoy investigating issues across data, configuration, and process; collaborating closely with IT on fixes; and making a tangible impact in a project‑centric, long‑lead manufacturing environment, this opportunity offers meaningful, long‑term work in a stable team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior functional Business Systems Analyst for an on-prem Infor LN 10.7 ERP spanning multiple legal entities.
  • Partner with Finance and IT to understand business requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications.
  • Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with finance and operations stakeholders, particularly around core financial and project/manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and document functional designs; review technical designs prepared by IT to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Coordinate and execute user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, test case creation, defect tracking, and sign‑off.
  • Provide tier‑1 functional triage for ERP issues, determining whether root causes are data, configuration, process, or interfaces, and routing effectively to IT or other teams.
  • Perform limited configurations such as master data updates and parameter/setting changes within agreed governance.
  • Support ongoing stabilization work arising from the merger of multiple operating companies into Infor LN 10.7 (fixes, enhancements, integrations, and upgrades).
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, streamline workflows, and enhance controls in finance and project/manufacturing processes.
  • Create and maintain high‑quality documentation for processes, configurations, functional designs, and test outcomes.
  • Collaborate with IT on code‑based fixes and integrations, ensuring solutions fit within a secure, non‑cloud, on‑prem architecture.
  • Ensure functional alignment with governance and compliance expectations by following established processes and controls.
  • Serve as a long‑term, stable member of the business systems team, building strong relationships with finance, operations, and IT stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Functional ERP Analyst working at the intersection of Finance and IT.
  • Hands‑on experience with Infor LN 10.7 is strongly preferred; alternatively, significant functional ERP experience with other tier‑1 platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and the ability to learn Infor LN quickly.
  • Deep functional knowledge of finance modules (e.g., GL, AP, AR, project/contract accounting, revenue recognition); experience in discrete manufacturing and/or project‑based environments is a strong asset.
  • Background in project‑centric, long‑lead businesses (e.g., construction, engineered‑to‑order, discrete manufacturing) is highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and diagnose issues across data, configuration, process, and systems interfaces in a complex ERP landscape.
  • Experience working in on‑prem, non‑cloud ERP environments, partnering with IT teams that own development and technical configuration.
  • Track record of delivering incremental improvements and enhancements within an existing ERP, rather than only greenfield implementations.
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, functional specification writing, and UAT coordination/execution.
  • Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear process maps, functional documents, and test artifacts.
  • Pragmatic, hands‑on, “doer” mindset—comfortable diving into details and seeing issues through to resolution.
  • High degree of stability and commitment; looking for a long‑term role as a core member of the business systems function.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to bridge business users and technical teams effectively.
