Job description

Financial Services Representative (Permanent, Full-time)

Location: Kingston, ON

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday

Rate of Pay: Dependent on experience

As a Financial Services Representative, You Will

  • Specialize in retail lending, recommending solutions which will enable our members to achieve their personal financial objectives.
  • Anticipate and determine the needs of members. Transact request or refer the member to the suitable service area.
  • Conduct interviews (personal loans, lines-of-credit and mortgages), complete document/application preparation and credit analysis.
  • Approve or decline credit applications that are within assigned lending limits; or make a recommendation to the applicable Manager/Lender for approval or decline of credit applications not within assigned lending limits.
  • Provide needs-based advice, counselling members on financial matters such as family budgeting, credit management and investment/retirement planning.
  • Identify opportunities to generate sales and new members.
  • Monitor the renewal of maturing investments, mortgages and loans. Ensure members receive appropriate notice, advising of alternative options and assist with renewals.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with members by providing excellent member service.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with emphasis in business or financial planning would be an asset
  • A minimum of two years’ comprehensive experience in consumer lending
  • Advanced member service and sales skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Mutual Funds License, active and in good standing
  • Willingness to complete additional educational components as required
