Financial Services Law Clerk - Permanent Position in Toronto, Ontario

Our outstanding client, a full-service law firm located in the core of downtown Toronto, known for their excellent work environment, is growing!
They are seeking a Junior Financial Services Law Clerk to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, but all levels of experience will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Order, review, and report on due diligence searches, including PPSA, UCC, and other corporate, lien, and related searches.
- Assist with drafting closing agendas, officer’s certificates, resolutions, PPSA / UCC search summary letters, reporting letters, notices of assignment of tax credits, and PPSA estoppels under the supervision of a lawyer.
- Liaise with law clerks, lawyers, clients, external agents, local counsel, third-party service providers, and governmental agencies as required.
- Coordinate with borrower’s counsel regarding closing documentation.
- Prepare and register PPSA liens in appropriate jurisdictions.
- Maintain transaction record books and update client forms and precedents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Financial Services / Banking Law Clerk.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative where appropriate.
- Successful completion of a post-secondary Law Clerk program and membership in good standing with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, CorpLink, eCore, PPSA Canada, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign.
