Shinhan Bank Co., Ltd. is seeking a Financial Services Associate to advance our market position and growth in the Toronto area. You will build rapport with new clients and support that strengthens our presence in the community.

You will greet customers, promote products, process transactions, and manage loans while ensuring compliance and high service standards. A 3–5 year track record in banking or financial services, and strong MS Office skills, are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years work experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to analyze financial information and risk; detailing and documenting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers to drive sales, service and information sharing.
  • Promote Shinhan Bank products and services by listening to customer needs.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and escalate when needed.
  • Process transactions: deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, and account management.
  • Handle loan applications, documentation, and approvals efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and community partners.
  • Serve VIP and business clients professionally.
  • Ensure due diligence for accuracy of transactions and compliance.
  • Support branch KPI goals through sales and service excellence.
  • Assist with branch opening/closing procedures and daily ops.
  • Perform loan servicing tasks including funds delivery and payments.

Job description

The Financial Services Associate (FSA) plays a key role to advance our Bank’s market position and financial growth, and advance Shinhan’s presence in the community.

The FSA is a strong relationship builder who is able to develop a rapport with new clients and provide support that will continually improve the relationship and advance our Bank’s presence in the industry.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Create a positive “First Impression’” by greeting and engaging customers in a range of sales, service and informational conversations
  • Proactively promote Shinhan Bank’s products and services by listening to and identifying the needs of customers
  • Resolve customer problems and concerns promptly, escalating issues as required
  • Provide sound advice at every customer interaction to create a positive customer experience
  • Complete financial transactions; opening/closing accounts, deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, and other account transactions for customers accurately and efficiently
  • Complete a variety of account transactions; conduct customer interviews, and complete loan applications, approvals, payoff for customers accurately and efficiently
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the KSC, community, existing and new depository/loan customers
  • Professionally serve existing VIP and business customers
  • Ensure necessary due diligence is taken to support the accuracy of all customer transactions
  • Contribute to the achievement of branch KPI objectives by meeting or exceeding individual sales goals
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and industry codes of conduct and with securities laws and regulations
  • Identify and refer customers to team members and internal Bank partners as appropriate
  • Understand and apply bank/branch operating policies and procedures - including assisting with the branch opening and closing procedures on a rotational basis
  • Loan servicing tasks such as deliver the funds, monitoring/collecting payments, collecting fees, conduct customer interview for loan application and collecting signatures, etc.
  • Support administrative tasks relating to loans such as loan renewals and documentation, etc.
  • Manage assist compliance (EDD/Monthly Compliance Review Report)
  • Handle F/X (Import & Export Doc. DA/DP/LC)
  • Handle Deposit Renew & Transfer RRSP & TFSA
  • Additional duties as deemed necessary
Job Requirements

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience Requirements: 3-5 years

  • Skilled assessing new and existing customer needs, providing quality advice and recommendations
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated skills to effectively organize and prioritize work volumes
  • Sound Knowledge of financial analysis, risk evaluation, loan documentation and commercial loan structures
  • Ability to generate new business, identify business opportunities – grow and maintain client relationships
  • Flexibility to withstand unpredictable changes to schedule and deadlines
  • Strong teamwork orientation
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build quality, long-term relationships with clients
  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
