Job summary

Great-West Lifeco Inc is seeking a senior financial risk professional to guide enterprise-wide risk framework development and management. You will oversee market, credit, and liquidity risks while coordinating with leadership and the Board on strategic risk considerations.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, robust analysis, and clear communication of complex concepts to executives across Canada, the US, UK, and Ireland. A CFA or actuarial qualification is preferred.

• Coaching / mentoring of junior co-workers and project leadership.

• Knowledge of market, liquidity and credit risk, investments, ALM and life insurance is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of elements of business and investment strategy with financial risk.
• Develop understanding of internal strategies to measure and manage financial risks.
• Lead key financial risk initiatives related to current and emerging risks and regulatory expectations.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across the global business.
• Prepare executive and Board-level material to communicate technical concepts clearly for senior stakeholders.
• Review risk analyses and support identification, measurement, management, monitoring and reporting of risks.
• Monitor business activities and external developments to identify shifts affecting risk profile.
