Job description

Our client, a growing independent wealth management and insurance firm in Oakville, is seeking a Financial Planning Associate to join their team.

This role is focused on supporting advisors and clients throughout the financial planning and insurance process—from client onboarding and plan preparation to ongoing servicing, reviews, and implementation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, client-focused professional who enjoys working collaboratively with advisors to deliver exceptional planning support and service to affluent and high-net-worth clients.

What You'll Do
  • Build, maintain, and update comprehensive client financial plans and supporting documentation.
  • Support discovery meetings and client needs analysis processes.
  • Assist in developing customized financial planning and insurance recommendations.
  • Conduct ongoing plan reviews and ensure client information remains current and accurate.
  • Coordinate with external professionals, including bankers, mortgage brokers, accountants, and insurance carriers, to support client objectives.
Advisor Support & Workflow Management
  • Support advisors throughout the client service and planning process.
  • Track and manage investment and insurance opportunities through the pipeline.
  • Prepare materials and documentation for client meetings and planning discussions.
  • Assist with implementing financial planning strategies and recommendations.
Client Administration & Service
  • Prepare, process, and manage client documentation throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate client records, correspondence, and follow-up activities.
  • Support policy servicing, premium payment administration, and annual review processes.
  • Ensure timely, professional, and proactive communication with clients and stakeholders.
Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure all client documentation and processes meet compliance and privacy standards.
  • Uphold a high standard of professionalism, accuracy, and client service.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • CFP designation or actively pursuing a recognized financial planning designation.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, wealth management, banking, insurance, or advisory support.
  • 2+ years of experience working with private clients or high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning and insurance concepts.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and CRM systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Conquest financial planning software.
  • Background in financial advisory support, private banking, insurance administration, or tax-focused planning environments.
  • Familiarity with financial services regulations and compliance standards.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
