Position : Financial Planning & Analysis Leader (position title will be dependent on level of experience of candidate)

Financial Planning & Analysis Leader

The FP&A Lead is a key member of the Corporate Office Finance team.

The responsibilities for this role can be broadly grouped into four main areas:

  1. Performance measurement and analysis of business and functional results. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring the company’s financial and operational results and synthesizing the analysis into actionable steps to improve performance or mitigate risks to future performance.
  2. Treasury and cash management. The corporate treasury function reports into this role, and the Leader is responsible for helping manage the company’s working capital and banking relationships.
  3. Commercial transaction support. The Leader will support business case development, evaluate potential M&A deals, acquisitions of equipment and real estate, and contract negotiations.
  4. Knowledge development and ideation on value-generating initiatives. The role involves keeping abreast of technical, sector, and peer group developments, generating insights and initiatives that add value to the organization.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing thought leadership and supporting the development of business intelligence dashboards, planning, and analytical tools to enhance planning activities.
  • Managing a small FP&A team, providing coaching and mentoring to develop skills and capabilities.
  • Leading projects related to planning systems, financial reporting, and business process improvements.
  • Supporting the company’s ERM and Strategic Planning exercises, contributing as needed.

Key Skills, Experience, and Abilities :

  • CPA preferred but not required if the candidate has comparable work experience and designations.
  • 10+ years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of ASPE or IFRS.
  • Experience working with an ERP solution.
  • Aptitude for advanced quantitative analysis and detailed modeling skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (writing, presentations, verbal).
  • Construction industry experience is a plus but not required.
