We have refreshed our name to Financial Planners within the Scotia Financial Planning team (formerly known as “Investment Specialist” under the Mobile Advice Team) in our Global Asset Management Division.

As a Financial Planner, you will develop and deepen client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service within the mass affluent market. You are entrepreneurial, leveraging your networks and centers of influence to grow your practice through building long-term relationships. Your clients are your greatest asset, and your goal is to help them meet their financial objectives.

You enjoy flexible meeting arrangements outside of the office and working within a collective Scotiabank framework that benefits your clients and practice.

Following a comprehensive financial planning framework, you will be responsible for driving investment sales and new client acquisition, while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards. You will also identify business development opportunities within your market area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote the growth of proprietary investment business through business development and client engagement.
  2. Provide client-centric investment solutions aligned with Global Sales Principles.
  3. Participate in community events and develop your network through seminars and local professional activities.
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • Current mutual funds certification and MFDA licensing (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • Completed the IPF designation.
  • Strong networking and client acquisition skills, experience with Centers of Influence.
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, able to work independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory environment.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for client meetings.
