This role involves providing financial and investment planning and advice to deliver solutions in the best interests of the customer. It includes determining client needs, selling managed products and services (e.g., mutual funds, retirement savings plans), and referring clients to business partners for other solutions.

  1. Proactively engage with new and existing customers to assess needs, grow loyalty, and identify opportunities.
  2. Implement business development strategies to acquire new clients through outbound calls and referrals.
  3. Engage with the community to generate new relationships and grow BMO's business.
  4. Identify opportunities during customer conversations to generate referrals for banking products.
  5. Support sales and performance targets.
  6. Develop and execute relationship management plans tailored to client needs.
  7. Respond to investment requests and refer clients to partners when appropriate.
  8. Develop solutions based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  9. Analyze data to provide insights and strategic recommendations.
  10. Ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  11. Introduce clients to investment strategies and help them set financial goals.
  12. Understand customer needs and incorporate marketing promotions into conversations.
  13. Contribute to improving business results and customer experience.
  14. Maintain current knowledge of investment products, practices, and trends.
  15. Work across multiple branches and channels as needed.
  16. Build relationships with stakeholders and ensure regulatory compliance.
  17. Think creatively and propose innovative solutions.
  18. Exercise judgment in diagnosing and solving problems within rules.
  19. Work independently with broader responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience with a related post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must meet licensing and registration requirements as a Financial Planner in the employment province or territory.
  • Advanced knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and team skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Influence skills.

Starting salary is $55,000 plus commission potential.

Salary Range: $43,200 - $80,300

Pay Type: Salaried & Commission

Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include performance incentives, bonuses, and other perks. Part-time roles are pro-rated. The total compensation may include additional benefits such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans.
