Job description

Our client, an established wealth management firm, is looking for a Financial Planner to join their growing team in Calgary.

The Financial Planner will be responsible for delivering an elevated level of service to support advisory teams and their client families.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial projections and modular planning deliverables for our clients.
  • Collaborate with our team to deliver Total Wealth Solutions complimentary departments (Tax Consulting, Tax Preparation, Insurance Solutions, Corporate Trustee, and Philanthropy), where appropriate, in drafting client projections and modular planning deliverables.
  • Present and update client projections, and support more senior team members in the discovery, preparation, and delivery of modular planning deliverables to client families.
  • Provide administrative support when required.
  • Support team members on a variety of other client deliverables and administrative requirements.
Requirements:
  • CFP designation is a MUST.
  • TEP designation is an asset.
  • College diploma or University degree.
  • 2+ years of practical, financial planning experience.
  • Planning involving Canadian corporations or trusts, and/or cross-border planning is an asset.
  • Experience with Conquest Planning or Naviplan software in the last two years is preferred.
  • Exposure to planning for Canadian operating, professional and holding corporations, and private trusts, is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian financial planning and its key concepts.
  • U.S. financial planning background is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of all Canadian investment solution structures and accounts.
  • Identifying client opportunities and providing potential solutions to client challenges throughout the planning process that aligns with goals-based planning.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple, competing deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exercise tact and the utmost discretion in the handling of client private, confidential information and collaborating with their other professional advisors.
Remuneration:

Remuneration for this role consists of a competitive base salary starting at $85K+ depending on experience, a strong bonus program, RSP matching, a great benefit program, and upward mobility.
