Job description

Join to apply for the Financial Planner role at BMO.

Provides financial and investment planning and advice to deliver solutions in the best interests of the customer. Determines client needs and offers solutions through the sales of managed products and services (e.g., mutual funds, retirement savings plans). Provides other solutions indirectly via referrals to business partners.

The role includes:

  1. Engaging proactively with new and existing customers to assess needs and grow loyalty.
  2. Implementing business development strategies to acquire new clients.
  3. Building relationships within the community to expand BMO’s business.
  4. Identifying opportunities during customer conversations for referrals.
  5. Supporting sales and performance targets.
  6. Developing and executing relationship management plans.
  7. Responding to customer investment requests and referring to partners when appropriate.
  8. Analyzing data and providing insights to solve strategic problems.
  9. Delivering timely and accurate service.
  10. Introducing clients to investment strategies and helping set financial goals.
  11. Understanding customer needs and integrating marketing promotions.
  12. Contributing to business and customer experience improvements.
  13. Maintaining knowledge of current investment products and trends.
  14. Working across multiple branches and channels as needed.
  15. Building relationships with stakeholders.
  16. Ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting assets.
  17. Thinking creatively and proposing solutions.
  18. Working independently and handling broader responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience with a related post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Must meet licensing and registration requirements for a Financial Planner.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial industry and related skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and influence skills.

Salary: $44,500 - $82,500

Pay Type: Salaried & Commission. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications, with potential performance incentives and benefits.
