riskthinking.AI Inc. (“RTAI”) is a visionary risk management company. We deliver the data, algorithms, and analytics needed to measure and manage financial risk resulting from climate change.

Our firm is led by Dr. Ron Dembo, who previously founded and served as CEO of Algorithmics Inc. Prior to its sale to Fitch Ratings Inc. and later IBM Corp., Algorithmics was the largest enterprise risk management company in the world.

Dr. Dembo has taken his patented multi-factor scenario modeling expertise and combined it with a team of cutting-edge climate scientists, data scientists, and computer science experts to create a method for measuring climate risk that is rooted in first principles of financial risk management.

Position Overview

We are seeking to hire a talented individual as a Financial Engineer on our Product Team. This individual will play a critical role in developing and implementing methodologies that bridge complex client needs with RTAI capability. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in pricing financial instruments and at least 5 years of experience in model development at a global financial services institution and/or global management consulting firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to take on a highly impactful role in helping to build a start-up as it embarks upon innovating cutting edge products to serve the world’s largest financial institutions.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside climate scientists and data scientists to drive research and development projects that push the boundaries of climate financial risk measurement
  • Design methodologies to enhance best practices in risk modelling and pricing by incorporating RTAI data
  • Collaborate with RTAI partners and clients to conduct model validation; this requires clear and comprehensive communications regarding data requirements, methodology, assumptions, and limitations
  • Support RTAI data scientists and computer scientists implement risk and pricing models in industrial scale software products
  • Closely monitor global regulatory developments as they relate to capital markets, risk management, and climate change
  • Participate in knowledge-transfer with RTAI climate scientists, data scientists, and computer scientists; develop an understanding of their disciplines and share your expertise in financial engineering
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in model development at a global financial services institution and/or global management consulting firm
  • Deep expertise in pricing complex derivatives and structured products (e.g., options, CDS, etc.)
  • A combination of very strong quantitative skills, programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, etc.), and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Master\'s Degree or PhD in Financial Engineering, Statistics, or a relevant postgraduate degree from an academically rigorous program
