About Our Opportunity:
Working within the mission, vision, values, and person-centred philosophy of the Agency, the Financial Empowerment Facilitator and Coach facilitates money skills training for adults, youth, and families across the Lower Mainland and provides one-to-one coaching. Implements the Money Skills curriculum to enable participants to effectively manage their everyday finances as well as plan for the future. Builds relationships with community partners to foster and facilitate access to training. It actively supports the Agency’s awareness and goals around diversity and inclusion.

Work Hours: Variable hours with a minimum of 2 to 12.5 hours per week
Salary: GS9, Step 1 $28.81/ hour plus 4% vacation
Location: Various locations, hybrid
(in office, with the community, and home this includes in-person and virtual)

What do you need to succeed?
Education, Training, Experience
- Undergraduate degree in social sciences, with four years of experience in personal finances, adult education, and group facilitation
- Previous experience working with community development projects, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Fluent in another language
- Knowledge of the systemic issues that affect low-income and marginalized people, and newcomers' challenges and barriers they face
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Spanish-speaking communities
- Thorough knowledge of community resources and related government and non-government programs
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Advanced knowledge of matters related to personal finances
- Excellent knowledge of dynamics related to poverty and low-income
- Ability to use initiative and function independently
- Computer competency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, MS Teams, and Outlook)
- Comfortable speaking in front of a large group or online, including facilitating discussion
- Strong research and analytic skills
