The Opportunity
HGA IFS is currently seeking a results-driven and experienced Financial Controller to join our firm. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial management, be proficient in regulatory compliance, and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. As a Financial Controller, you will work closely with our clients and internal teams to provide expert financial guidance and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting operations for a diverse client portfolio
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize financial performance
- Create and implement financial policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting regulations
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Collate and analyze financial data to provide forecasts, projections, and budget plans
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor in financial matters
- Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Stay updated on accounting standards and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and best practices
- Provide guidance and coaching to team members and ensure their professional development
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role, preferably in a professional services environment, for a minimum of 3 years
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- CPA designation
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks suite) and open to learn new ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a focus on data integrity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to clients and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
