Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and audit coordination.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's day-to-day financial operations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Oversee payroll, statutory remittances, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong financial controls and processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support organizational decision-making.

Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA) is looking for an experienced financial professional to lead the organization's finance function and support its continued success. PGA is a member-based organization dedicated to supporting and advancing Alberta's potato industry through advocacy, research, education, and industry development.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for the overall financial management of the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and the Board of Directors while overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, compliance, and financial planning.
