Financial Controller

Must be located in Ottawa, ON to collaborate in office 3 days/week.

#CareersThatKickSaas! The TrueContext Finance team is looking to add a savvy Financial Controller to the team. The ideal candidate is energetic, eager to learn, and capable of solving problems while gaining valuable experience. The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the full revenue process, including billing, collections, revenue recognition (IFRS 15), management reports, and external financial reports (IFRS).

This role involves various responsibilities and will evolve as the organization and the individual grow. Key tasks include monthly reporting, filing sales taxes, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The FC should have a good understanding of Revenue recognition under IFRS and other accounting matters.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the VP of Finance in establishing a robust financial control reporting framework and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  2. Oversee and manage the Revenue/Accounts Receivable function.
  3. Prepare memos for revenue recognition (IFRS) and other accounting issues.
  4. Maintain the company's revenue file with details on monthly revenue, billing, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue per customer.
  5. Prepare monthly reconciliations of subledgers (Maxio/Salesforce) to GL.
  6. Reconcile ARR to GL monthly.
  7. Forecast A/R collections.
  8. Assist in preparing monthly IFRS reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
  9. Support the VP of Finance in establishing and monitoring financial policies for IFRS compliance and other regulations.
  10. Assist in preparing company forecasts.
  11. Provide backup support for the VP of Finance.
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Professional designation (e.g., CPA).
  2. Strong understanding of IFRS.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and think critically.
  5. Strong attention to detail.
  6. Proven leadership and team management experience.
