Job summary

Botpress is seeking a Financial Controller to own the financial backbone as we scale. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will run core accounting operations end-to-end, shape forecasts, and provide board-ready reporting.

You will drive automation and leverage AI to streamline processes while building robust financial systems. You will lead a small team, manage month- and year-end closes, audits, and budgets, and partner with leaders on spend, headcount, and unit economics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Bias toward automation and building scalable systems
• Experience at a high-growth SaaS or startup with SaaS revenue recognition and metrics
• Hands-on FP&A experience: budgeting, forecasting, and board-level reporting
• Track record of building or upgrading financial systems, processes, and controls
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, comfortable with the ambiguity of a scaling startup
• Nice to have: Big 4 or audit background; cross-border operations

Responsibilities

• Prepare board and investor reporting, including SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, burn multiple)
• Design and implement financial systems, controls, and processes that scale with the business
• Partner with department leaders on spend management, headcount planning, and unit economics

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you'll own the financial backbone of a company scaling fast. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll run our core accounting operations end-to-end while shaping the forecasts, board reporting, and financial systems that guide how we grow. • Detail‑obsessed and deadline‑driven, but comfortable with the ambiguity of a scaling startup
• Nice to have: Big 4 or audit background; experience with multi‑entity or cross‑border operations
