Job description

The Controller will lead financial operations to ensure timely collections, payments, and reliable payroll processing. This role also provides oversight to departmental leads in Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Payroll, and Administration. Additionally, the Controller will oversee external financial statement audits, guide corporate accounting policies, and manage a group of administrative and support functions—including scheduling, facility management, and revenue operations.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations and Reporting

• Lead the effective management of Finance and Accounting functions.
• Prepare financial statement packages including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and funder reporting.
• Oversee treasury and cash management, including resident trust accounts.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records for AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, general ledger, and banking transactions.
• Lead corporate audit activities and establish internal accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor expenditures and daily financial activities.
• Provide service-oriented support to internal departments to enable efficient business operations.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance reporting accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and coordinate with auditors on findings.

Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable / Payroll

• Ensure timely vendor payments and resident billing and collections.
• Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Resolve escalated issues related to payroll, AP, and AR functions.

Office Management

• Ensure effective administrative office procedures and workflows.
• Manage the head office environment to support smooth, organized operations.
• Embed organizational mission and values across administrative functions.

Leadership and Strategy

• Lead, mentor, and manage finance and admin teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
• Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives that support the broader organizational mission.
