Financial Controller

Are you a detail-oriented financial professional with a passion for optimizing financial processes and driving business growth? Our client, a leading importer of intimate apparel, known for their commitment to quality and innovation, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller for their team. As the Financial Controller, you will oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, reporting, and import operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Prepare the annual budget and cash flow projections.
3. Present monthly consolidated financial statements to senior management and stakeholders.
4. Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, sales tax remittance, payroll, and source deductions.
5. Support management in HR-related financial matters.
6. Coordinate year-end audit preparation and liaise with auditors.
7. Manage foreign exchange contracts and oversee inter-company transactions.
8. Supervise import operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and streamlining logistics.
9. Review all import/export entries and manage duty drawback claims.
10. Implement and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain accurate financial reporting.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights.
12. Oversee EDI transactions for invoicing and provide support to Accounts Receivable.
13. Manage investment portfolio data entry and reconciliation.

Requirements:

1. 7–10 years of experience in financial management, accounting, and import operations.
2. CPA designation (or in progress) is an asset.
3. Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP systems.
4. Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
5. Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
6. Experience with import/export regulations and customs compliance.
7. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
