Qualifications

Job description

General Purpose:

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Controller supports the operation through the examination of the costing, inventory, fixed asset functions, monthly reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting and special projects.

Key Activities:

Activity A: Standard Costing

  • Manage all standard costing and Bill of Material updates with ERP program, Infor M3.
  • Assist with the development of enhancements to the ERP system.
  • Analyze and recommend cost savings opportunities.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory and part codes for Standard cost purposes.
  • Support Senior Management team with business planning through high caliber analysis of financial inputs including financial, labour reports.

Activity B: Inventory Management and others

  • Prepare and liaise with auditors during annual physical inventory.
  • Maintain and improve upon Computerized Accounting/Inventory Control systems with the ERP and Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
  • Assist with the analysis and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock.
  • Oversee, assist and audit cycle counting process.
  • Manage inventory reporting for month end.
  • Reconcile rebate and volumes.
  • Take ownership of fixed asset projects from start to finish. Run depreciation at month end.
  • Responsible for the accounting and closing of the Rolla -210 company monthly accounting and reporting therein.
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Finance.

Activity C: Reporting

  • Cognos reporting monthly including month end and KPIs.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual budgeting process.
  • Work on automation of reports and implement best practices.

Minimum Qualifications (Education):

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or equivalent, an asset.
  • Post-secondary education with a concentration in Finance, Commerce, Business.

Previous Experience Required:

  • 5-10 years of related work experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

Skills, Abilities & Equipment Operated:

  • Ability to deliver high level of service to internal customers, and handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent quantitative analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with ADVANCED Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to create, analyze and manipulate mass quantities of data in Spreadsheet form.
  • Experience with major ERP.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and work in a team environment.
