The firm is seeking a Payroll and Accounting Technician to focus on full cycle bookkeeping services within our Financial Consulting practice in Canada. We are looking for a self-motivated, responsible professional to handle payroll and accounting processes for small to mid-sized businesses. This role involves managing client payroll and accounting functions and supporting the success of the service line and clients. It is a critical role where you can make a significant difference in the success of our clients and team.

Responsibilities Include :
  1. Payroll processing and management
  2. Preparation of T4s and other year-end slips
  3. Performing bookkeeping and accounting consulting services using independent judgment and technical knowledge
  4. Managing accounts payable processes
  5. Bank reconciliations
  6. Balance sheet account reconciliations
  7. Accruals and adjusting journal entries
  8. Preparing financial statements
  9. Maintaining depreciation schedules, reconciling complex accounts, and preparing monthly financial statements
  10. Conducting research and preparing data reports and presentations as required
Basic Qualifications :
  • National Payroll Institute Payroll Certification (PCP) or equivalent experience/education
  • Knowledge of Quebec payroll (asset)
  • Certification in bookkeeping and accounting or equivalent (recommended)
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, including full cycle payroll and account reconciliations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The salary range for this role is $62,000 - $99,500. Compensation will reflect experience, performance, and skills. Selected individuals will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
