Job description

Kingston School of Dance (“KSD”) is one of Kingston’s oldest and only non-for-profit dance school. It offers a beautiful space and likeminded caring professionals who are passionate about artistic expression, the community, and bringing excellence to the world of everything dance.

Currently we are looking for a Part-Time Financial and Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Board of Directors, Artistic Director and Studio Manager.

If you are looking to support a wonderful community and bring your financial and administrative expertise to a rewarding organization you might be who we are looking for! You will report to the Studio Manager, while providing support to the Artistic Director and the Board of Directors.

Your day to day will be interfacing with both the community, students, and your colleagues, while supporting documentation, administration, financial tasks, audits, reporting, analysis and the organization on the back end.This role has the ability to be hybrid, working remotely and supporting the office at the KSD location.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Receiving, processing, and tracking KSD payments

Managing sales, and sales records with stakeholders

Stakeholder payment management and communication

Assisting the Studio Manager to reconcile accounts

Validation and management of timesheets

Compiling financial reports to support budget planning, grant reporting and audits

Full KSD document management, creation of organization system.

Assisting in community outreach initiatives in collaboration with the Board and the Artistic Director and Studio Manager

Front Desk support, such as answering inquiries in person or by phone, and overall front desk management.

Other administrative tasks in support of programming, performance and/or as assigned by the Artistic Director and/or Studio Manager

Requirements:

Post-secondary education in finance or office administration

Experience in bookkeeping, preparing financial report and general office administration

Strong communication, organizational and business skills, with a high attention to detail

Strong computer skills with experience in Excel, Quickbooks, Revenue Trackers, Dance Studio Pro or other similar program

Ethical standards in managing confidential and sensitive information

Positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve business operations

experience in non-profit and arts organization is considered an asset

Hourly Pay Rate: $18- $22 CAD per hour (based on experience)

Schedule – 10 to 15 hours per week (must be available evenings and weekends)

Must be able to show proof that you are eligible to work in Canada & must be able to provide a clean criminal record check
