Job summary

Canadian Tire Bank is seeking a student to join the FP&A Innovation & Strategic Projects team in Oakville, Ontario. You will help improve financial planning processes and support True North Strategy execution.

You will collaborate with the FP&A team to develop forecasting models, create business cases, and participate in monthly reviews and planning cycles. Excel proficiency and an interest in Power BI are required or encouraged.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a university degree or college diploma in Finance/Accounting, Economics, Math, or another related discipline.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; ability to learn these tools on the job.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is an asset but not required; training provided.
• Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently.
• Outcome-focused critical thinkers with the ability to analyze financial results.
• Collaborative team players who build relationships across stakeholder groups.
• Adept at learning new financial software and systems with ease.

Responsibilities

• Improve financial planning processes and support the execution of CTFS’s True North Strategy.
• Collaborate with business partners and the FP&A team to develop forecasting models.
• Create financial business cases aligned with strategic objectives.
• Participate in monthly business reviews, annual planning and forecasting cycles, and periodic projections.
• Work with corporate partners to advance Canadian Tire’s True North Strategy elements.
• Update and create insightful management reports with a Senior Analyst.
• Enhance and create Excel financial models to simplify processes.
• Support financial services business cases for True North strategy.
• Create reports in Microsoft Power BI.
• Develop understanding of Canadian Tire Financial Services' strategy and results.
• Support internal clients with ad hoc analyses.

What You’ll Do

• You will work closely with corporate partners to advance key elements of Canadian Tire’s True North Strategy.
• Collaborate with a Senior Analyst to update and create insightful management reports to enable business decisions.
• Enhance and create Excel financial models aimed to simplify business processes.
• Support financial services business cases for Canadian Tire’s True North strategy.
• Create reports in Microsoft Power BI.
• Develop a strong understanding of Canadian Tire Financial Services' strategy and financial results.

What You Bring

Broadband Salary Range: $23.00 - $37.00 CAD hourly

Our typical hiring range is between $23.00 and $30.00 hourly.
