Job Description

The successful candidate is expected to have a broad skill set and be capable of performing diverse functions and activities, including but not limited to:

1. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounting processes including purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts and revenues, general ledger, payroll.
2. Working knowledge of audit principles and internal controls.
3. Knowledge of government financial management systems.
4. Working knowledge of the Financial Administration Act, Treasury Board Directives, and related financial policies.
5. Hands-on experience with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
6. Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
7. Ability to exercise professional judgment.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze situations, and recommend solutions.
9. University graduation in a related field (equivalency: related diploma plus 3 years of related experience) plus one year of related experience. Enrollment in a professional accounting program (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA) is desirable.
