Responsibilities

Position Summary:

As Financial Analyst I, you will provide financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring the company receives payments for insurance revenue and services and properly records the transactions by posting receipts and resolving discrepancies according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Responsible for monthly accounts processing
  • Collect and process cash transactions
  • Resolve accounts receivable discrepancies with brokers and underwriters
  • Maintain accounts receivable files and records
  • Prepare aging receivable analysis
  • Prepare monthly intercompany journal entries
  • Prepare month end journal entries
  • Perform month end reconciliation
  • Assist with reinsurance quarterly reports
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and accounting analysis as directed
  • Prepare and update accounting process documentation
  • Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by the department leaders
Qualifications

Characteristics:

  • Post-Secondary education or Insurance experience an asset, open to new or recent graduates
  • 1 year of experience in an accounting role (invoicing, cash applications, accounts reconciliations)
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office - Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment
