Financial Analyst – FP&A Defense and Security

About This Role

Are you looking to dive into the fast-paced, dynamic world of forecasting? Seeking an environment in which you’ll be continually learning, taking on new challenges, and communicating with management and operational teams around the world? CAE, a world-class public company and leader in training for civil aviation, defence, and security, is seeking a talented individual to join its Defense & Security (D&S) FP&A team as a Financial Analyst.

Reporting to the D&S Manager, Global Reporting and Analysis, you will:

1. Participate in consolidating the monthly forecast for the Defense and Security segment, including preparing reports and analyses for senior management.
2. Assist in the annual budget process for the segment, including preparing the consolidated budget package and ad hoc analyses.
3. Conduct monthly analyses of income statement variances comparing actuals to forecast, budget, and prior year.
4. Work closely with senior management as a business partner, providing guidance and support to the D&S regions.
5. Perform general and customized analyses to support strategic initiatives.
6. Support special projects and collaborate with global teams on process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• CPA accounting designation.
• At least five (5) years of experience in an accounting firm or similar role.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.
• Problem-solving skills and innovative thinking for recommendations.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication at all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
• Hyperion Financial Management and/or Hyperion Planning experience is a plus.
