Job description

Position: Financial Analyst (Financial Advisory & Analysis)

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Department: Financial Advisory and Analysis (FA&A)

Reports To: Manager, FA&A

Position Summary

Our FA&A team provides insights to make smart and informed decisions when evaluating and executing our corporate strategy. This includes budgeting, forecasting, management and Board reporting, and evaluating new business opportunities. The team collaborates with internal divisions to analyze current and projected results, driving financial performance and value creation across the organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your technical and analytical skills while making a meaningful impact on a leading international company.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the preparation of Seapeak’s long-term financial forecasts and projections.
  2. Utilize forecast models for scenario planning of M&A, commercial tenders, liquidity analysis, and financial strategies.
  3. Assist in maintaining financial models for capital investments and long-term contracts, delivering detailed financial analysis for decision-making.
  4. Help prepare cash flow forecasts for joint venture partners.
  5. Prepare financial materials for quarterly Board meetings, including variance analyses.
  6. Create PowerPoint presentations for management, the Board, lenders, and stakeholders.
  7. Support the Treasury team on ad hoc projects to expand your skills in corporate finance areas such as debt, liquidity, FX, and interest rate risks.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s degree, CPA.
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills and knowledge of valuation and finance techniques.
  • Experience with PowerPoint and data visualization.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Effective communication of financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders; familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFA or CBV designation (or in progress).
  • Experience in FP&A or similar roles.
  • Shipping industry experience.
  • Interest or experience in AI applications in finance.
