THE ROLE:
As Financial Analyst, you will be a key member of our team supporting our Finance, Analytics, and Investor Relations functions. In this role, you will be providing critical analytical support by assisting with various property and portfolio level analyses, and quarter-end deliverables. You will also get involved with driving special projects and initiatives, all while interfacing with various internal teams and external auditors.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Analytics:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual space and tenant occupancy analyses, related management reporting and financial statements disclosures.
  • Develop property and portfolio level analyses related to various initiatives of the Analytics team focused on FFO optimization strategies.
  • Support forecasting, asset strategy, sustainability and investor relations teams with space and tenant occupancy information and other analytics.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external auditors.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring various KPIs.
  • Participate in special projects and take on other duties, as assigned.
Financing:
  • Support the Financing process, including equity, mortgages, unsecured debentures, credit facilities etc.
  • Coordinate and liaise with various teams such as Accounting and Legal on administrative financing matters and ownership structures.
  • Prepare timeline with respect to quarterly month end tasks.
Investor Relations:
  • Create Investor Relations presentations and assist in updating slides on a quarterly basis.
  • Update and maintain the investor database while monitor and track changes to company units and unitholders.
  • Complete retail REIT peer research for industry comparison.
  • Participate in other project and take on other duties as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • One (1) to three (3) years of related experience, preferably within a public company.
  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business, Finance or Accounting; working towards a designation (CPA, CFA or equivalent) as an asset.
  • Commercial real estate industry knowledge and exposure is a bonus.
  • Experience with JDE and VTS (preferred)
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • You have an analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and troubleshoot errors; you are open-minded and can consider new ways of looking at information.
  • Adept with IT tools and well-equipped spreadsheet knowledge with the ability to design and implement well-thought-out analytical models.
  • Strong skills in data visualization
  • Outstanding time management and organizational capabilities to coordinate multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across all levels within and outside the organization.
  • A team-player; you are willing to step in and lend a hand as needed and identify the opportunities to do so.
