A leading Canadian retailer in Calgary is seeking a Financial Analyst to prepare and analyze budgets, monitor forecasts, and provide analytical commentary to assist financial decision-making. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Business or Finance, with 1-3 years of relevant experience and strong skills in financial modeling and analysis. What you’ll do
Prepare, monitor and analyze budgets and forecasts, and investigate variances while identifying risks and opportunities
Produce insightful, and analytical commentary and reporting to assist the decision making of financial and non-financial stakeholders
Build and improve financial models to assist with regular and ad hoc analysis and reporting
Collaborate with variousteams to consolidate financial results
Anticipate and support evolving financial performance reporting needs and work with cross functional teams to drive improvements and process changes
What you bring
University degree or College diploma in Business, Finance/Accounting, or business related discipline, c urrently pursuing an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
1 - 3 years (co-op experience included) in a business or financial analysis role
Experience with building and improving financial models
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex financial results and build and maintain strong relationships
