Job summary

Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Accounting group in Toronto, Hybrid 4 days in-office. You will prepare corporate expenses, assist in consolidation, and support monthly close activities with HFM and intercompany eliminations.

The role requires a degree in accounting or business, progress towards CPA, and 2+ years of experience with IFRS and consolidation. Strong Excel skills and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • University degree or College diploma in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Working towards CPA designation.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of consolidation principles and IFRS.
  • Solid accounting fundamentals.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Team oriented with ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze corporate expenses and assist with balance sheet analytics.
  • Assist in consolidation using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end corporate journal entries in HFM.
  • Monitor intercompany eliminations for assigned items.
  • Support CEO/CFO certification of key controls and management review.
  • Prepare schedules for financial statement information.
  • Liaise with FP&A, BU Accounting, Tax, Treasury for close inquiries.
  • Manage reconciliation sign-offs across finance teams.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and reports for Senior Management.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the Corporate Accounting group, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the timely preparation of the Corporate Function expenses and assists in consolidated financial results monthly.

  • Perform analysis of corporate expenses and assist with balance sheet analytics
  • Assist in consolidation using Hyperion Financial Management
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end corporate journal entries within HFM
  • Assist in monitoring intercompany elimination for assigned financial statement line items
  • Coordinate CEO/CFO certification of key controls and submit to management for review and sign-off
  • Analyze and prepare schedules for various financial statement information
  • Liaise with other groups within Finance (FP&A, BU Accounting, Tax, Treasury) to respond to corporate close and consolidation specific inquiries as required
  • Manage reconciliation sign offs by all teams across finance
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, analysis, and preparation of reports for Senior Management
What You Bring
  • University degree or College diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Working towards completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of consolidation principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Solid accounting fundamental skills
  • Advanced working level of Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Team spirit and commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization and build/maintain strong relationships
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management or PeopleSoft is considered an asset

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid: In-office 4 days a week)

Salary Range: $53,000 – $88,000. Our typical hiring range is between $53,000 and $70,000. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role‑specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
