Job summary

Safarilan in Ottawa, Canada seeks a Financial Analyst to own financial close activities, reconciliations, reporting, cost accounting and financial records maintenance. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and capital expenditures to aid operational decision-making.

The position requires strong Excel prowess, ERP experience (Dynamics 365) and ability to deliver on month-end timelines with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
• CPA designation or active progression toward CPA is preferred.
• Minimum three years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel to analyze financial information.
• Manufacturing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, project accounting, budgeting or forecasting experience is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, OneStream, Power BI or comparable systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries.
• Prepare balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations; investigate reconciling items.
• Own assigned accounting processes and supporting documentation.
• Prepare schedules and analyses for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Perform expense reconciliation and other general accounting duties.
• Maintain capital asset records and subledger reconciliations.
• Support project accounting, revenue recognition (including ASC 606).
• Assist with SR&ED schedules and daily cash reconciliations.
