Job description

The RDKB is currently seeking applications to fill a permanent, full-time Financial Analyst 2 position in Trail, BC. The RDKB has expanded the Finance department to meet growing regulatory and auditing requirements, as well as to assist in the responsible administration of grant monies across the district. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Financial Analyst will provide reporting, analysis and information to leaders across the organization to support public service delivery throughout the region. As part of the Finance department, the Financial Analyst will work across a range of projects, including the RDKB’s award-winning annual report, auditing and budgets, and help to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and accounting for the organization.

To be considered for this opportunity candidates must possess the following:



  • University degree in commerce, business administration or a related field.

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing is preferred. To be considered, minimum requirements are to be enrolled in CPA PEP and have completed the CORE 1 and CORE 2 modules.

  • At least 3 years experiencing in an accounting position, preferably in a BC local government environment.

  • Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning (IPWEA) preferred, must be acquired within 12 months if not already attained at time of hiring.

  • An equivalent combination of knowledge, qualification and experience may be considered

  • Strong working knowledge and experience using financial and accounting software.

  • Sound knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards and related accounting principles and standards.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office environment, including superior Excel skills.

Compensation: $45.59/hr (2025)
