Financial Analyst - 12 Month Term

We’re currently searching for an experienced Financial Analyst who will be responsible for implementing, approving, analyzing and improving financial reporting and accounting systems.

What you do:

• Critically analyze data, interpret information, legislation and policy, and provide recommendations.
• Prepare complex spreadsheets for financial accounting functions.
• Liaise with other department staff and external organizations in support of municipal and airport operations.
• Develop, review and approve financial transactions and reports.
• Develop, monitor and audit special projects and agreements.
• Research and assist with policy development.
• Coordinate work of financial services staff.
• Prepare and deliver presentations.
• Draft and prepare Council Reports.

You have a university degree and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Equivalent education and experience will be considered. In addition, you have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience with a minimum of two (2) years at the Accountant level of experience or higher.

This is a CUPE bargaining unit position with a starting hourly rate of $51.86 plus 14% in lieu of benefits, vacation and statutory holidays.
