Location: Preferred in Montreal; open to candidates across Canada, with a preference for Eastern Canada

About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support a potential acquisition. This is a 12-month contract role where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, develop models, and provide insights to drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong financial acumen, analytical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Case Analysis: Partner with legal, regulatory, taxation, investment management, planning, and accounting policy teams to assess financial impacts.
• Economic & Investment Analysis: Evaluate potential acquisitions, identify synergy opportunities, and present insights to executive leadership.
• Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain dynamic models to assess key business outcomes, financial risks, and impacts.
• M&A Invoice Reconciliation: Manage monthly reconciliation of M&A-related invoices, investigate discrepancies, and process adjustments.
• Reporting & Insights: Analyze revenue and cross-sell reports to provide actionable insights.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve financial analysis and reporting workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA designation is a nice to have but not necessary.
• Analytical Expertise: Proven experience in financial analysis, accounting, or M&A-related roles.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision in financial data management.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights.
• Bilingual: French & English is a PLUS... English is required.
