• Processes account payable transactions, issues cheques/electronic payments, verifies receipt of

services, codes transactions, and enters information into the accounting system.

• Reconciles accounts, accounts ledgers and daily balances in a timely manner.

• Prepares month end adjusting entries.

• Documents processes and procedures.

• Generates reports and retrieves invoices in support of PST filings.

• Prepares and confirms tax payments as required.

• Runs quarterly reports in support of installment calculations.

• Identifies quarterly non-resident withholdings.

• Contacts various tax authorities to resolve outstanding issues.

• Requests documents for certain tax filings from across the organization, helps open and file

mail, complete signature requests, manage file organization and book meetings.

• Provides back-up to other Senior Technicians in Corporate Accounting as required.

• Such other tasks as are required by the Corporate Accounting Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have:

• Minimum five years of experience in an accounts payable role

• Strong accounting skills and proficiency with Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, and

PowerPoint

• A team player with excellent interpersonal abilities and organizational skills, and attention to

detail

• Proactive and results oriented with good time management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• The ability to maintain accuracy and high productivity in a time-sensitive and demanding

• The ability to analyze problems and identify solutions, to exercise sound judgement and to have

a service-oriented mindset.

• Initiative and drive to thrive in an environment focused on continuous improvement.

• Ability to use critical thinking skills to tackle challenges in an innovative way.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of financial reporting, and relevant accounting standards

• Experience with complex decentralized organizations, ideally financial institutions.

Experience with corporate income tax and indirect tax filings
