Reporting to Clinics Finance leadership, this individual will play an important role in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, supporting month-end and quarter-end close activities, and improving accounting processes across a fast-growing and acquisitive public company reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

This role requires a highly organized and analytical professional who can manage competing priorities, collaborate effectively with clinic operations and corporate finance teams, and identify opportunities to standardize, automate and strengthen financial processes as WELL continues to grow.

What you will be doing:
  • Own the day-to-day accounting for assigned clinics, ensuring transactions are complete, properly coded, adequately supported and recorded in the appropriate accounting period.
  • Complete assigned month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities within established timelines, maintaining accurate and audit-ready working papers.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for key financial statement accounts, promptly investigating and resolving reconciling items.
  • Prepare monthly clinic financial reporting, including profit-and-loss and balance-sheet results, with variance and trend analysis against budget, forecast, baseline and prior periods.
  • Partner with clinic and business-unit leaders to explain financial results, improve source documentation and provide financial insight that supports timely operational decision-making.
  • Support internal controls, external audit, internal audit and financial-statement requests by providing accurate schedules, explanations and supporting evidence within agreed deadlines.
  • Support acquisition integrations, clinic onboarding and finance-transformation initiatives, including chart-of-accounts mapping, opening balances, system access, and monthly reporting requirements.
  • Improve and document accounting and reporting processes to enhance audit readiness, reporting quality and operational efficiency, while maintaining continuity files and cross-training team members to reduce key-person dependency.
You have:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA certification).
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and IFRS, including month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and improve reporting processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools; Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, QuickBooks and healthcare EMR systems are considered strong assets.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical clinics, shared services, or another multi-entity environment is preferred.
  • Exposure to acquisitions, post-acquisition integrations, finance transformation, process automation, or continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders and cross-functional teams.
