Work Type: Permanent - Full Time-– In Office

Responsible to: Director of Finance

Salary: 65-80k

The Role:

The Financial Analyst is a strategic role responsible for planning and managing JD Canada’s financial performance. You will use your experience to build upon the foundation of the Financial Planning & Analysis department, executing on the FP&A strategic directives. The ideal candidate brings a successful track record of sales forecasting, retail planning, and weekly/monthly sales reporting and analysis.

The Responsibilities:

• Assisting with financial planning, budgeting and re-forecasting processes
• Analyzing financial statements and reports and both developing and contributing to advanced financial models where required
• Preparing projections for brick and mortar and ecomm locations, managing projects and assisting with monthly close processes
• Analyze costs and set department budgets, ensure teams are within budget and provide feedback regarding variances. Conduct cost analyses, benchmarking, and risk assessments
• Building seasonal sales phasing using historical sales data and go-forward retailer sales plans
• Performing research and analysis and create reports as required by leadership
• Presenting FP&A reports to the executive team and specific management as required
• Support the automation and enhancement of financial & reporting systems by developing department dashboards in new system
• Review, analyze and provide commentary on weekly, period end and quarter end financial results

The Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• Experience working in the retail industry and a deep familiarity with relevant KPIs (conversion, ATV, UPT, etc.)
• Experience presenting complex financial information to an executive audience
• Executive stakeholder management experience
• 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis and modelling
• Deep familiarity with Netsuite and Workday Financials software is crucial, familiarity with Jesta ERP is an asset
• Possesses good working knowledge of financial strategies and models
• Advanced excel skills with the ability to create and maintain complex reports
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
