Currently we have an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join our team as a Financial Analyst.
SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst is responsible for performing accounting duties of Michael Garron Hospital Foundation (MGHF) in-line with the organization's strategic plan and mission.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will help prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reporting and other ad-hoc analysis and reports. This role will oversee the full cycle general accounting functions. They will work closely with the gift processing team to reconcile monthly donation revenue, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Full cycle Accounts Payable processing, which includes reviewing invoices for accuracy, coding and entering invoices for payment, setting up electronic fund transfers or printing cheques, and liaising with vendors as needed
• Verify and process staffexpense claims and corporate credit card transactions
• Ensure payments followMGHF's internal procurement and signing authority policies
• Maintain and reconcile bank reconciliations
• In collaboration with the gift processing team, reconcile monthly donation revenues in Raiser's Edge to the bank and post to Financial Edge, ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Full cycle general accounting for month-end and year-end closing
• Preparation of monthly journal entries, general ledger reconciliations,and analysis
• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, continuity schedules, and dashboards
• Work with the MGH Finance team to review and process grant payments
• Assist in the creation, maintenance, and data entry of budgets and forecasts
• Preparation of working papers for the annual financial statement audit ensuring accurate and timely execution
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory remittances (i.e. HST returns, T3010 charity returns)
• Act as a finance partner to the foundation team, and back up forthe Director of Finance
• Basic systems maintenance in Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge (i.e. update chart of accounts, data tables, set up new funds)
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
• Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CMA, CGA designation preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of accounting experience (preferably in a hospital/foundation environment)
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles for not-for-profits and fund accounting
• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT preferred
• Experience with or understanding of CRA guidelines for charities preferred
• Highly analytical and attentive to detail with a strong sense of urgency and a progressive approach to technology adoption and process improvement
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with a can-do attitude
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Enthusiasm to support broader foundation events and initiatives inside and outside regular work hours
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.

COMPENSATION
We offer an industry leading pension plan (HOOPP), a comprehensive group health and dental benefits package, fitness classes and gym membership, an employee discount program, and tuition assistance. Our target hiring salary range is $67,000 - $82,000 annually with an additional performance-based bonus of up to 6%.
