Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Analyst for our Corporate Accounting team. The position is fully remote and open to candidates in either Winnipeg or Toronto. The position reports directly to the Manager of Accounting. The incumbent is responsible for completing periodic finance and accounting transactions and analysis in support of the business’ annual, quarterly and periodic financial statements, providing insight directly on the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preparing period-close journal entries related to rebates and margins
2. Preparing and analyzing sales margins and investigating anomalies
3. Preparing inventory cycle counts, and non-cycle counts balances at period end, quarter end, and year end
4. Providing periodic analytical commentary, including highlighting accounting issues and providing explanations for any variances to budget
5. Assisting with several other areas of the periodic, quarter end, and year end close process
6. Assisting with the overall integrity of the financial data, processes and business controls for the organization
7. Continuously drive improvements in the organization’s financial reporting processes
8. Participating, supporting, and driving corporate wide financial priorities & initiatives
9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

1. Bachelor of Commerce degree with finance and/or accounting specialization
2. 5+ years of experience as a financial analyst/accountant
3. Excellent organization and communication skills
4. Strong attention to detail and deadline oriented
5. Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and financial acumen
6. Ability to think strategically and strong skills to drive business initiatives end to end and deliver insights
7. Experience with inventory reconciliation and reporting
8. Experience with sales margin and analysis
9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, evolving environment
10. Advanced Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel skills, including Pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, etc.
11. Experience in the following systems considered to be an asset: Blackline Reconciliation, Business Central and Microstrategy BI
12. Experience in multi-location and/or retail business environment considered to be an asset
