** Hourly rate ranging from 30-40/hour depending on the candidates relative experience
Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst – Revenue Recording & Fixed Assets will play a critical role in the Record to Report (R2R) function. This role is responsible for the oversight of revenue recording, fixed asset accounting, account reconciliations, and risk tracking. The analyst will oversee a team of offshore accountants to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and effective risk mitigation. The position demands strong accounting knowledge, leadership, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders and maintain robust financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Oversight
- Guide and supervise a team of 5 offshore accountants, ensuring performance targets and deliverables are met.
- Provide coaching, training, and support to offshore team members.
- Coordinate with the Manager to align offshore activities with business objectives.
Revenue and Fixed Assets Accounting
- Oversee accurate and timely revenue recording in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Review fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls related to revenue and fixed assets.
- Experience with fixed assets accounting.
- Understanding of deferred revenue accounting principles.
Reconciliations and Month-End Close
- Manage and review complex balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Monitor reconciliation quality and aging, resolving outstanding issues with appropriate stakeholders.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
Risk Tracking and Mitigation
- Identify, track, and follow up on risk and control items related to financial reporting.
- Maintain a risk register and ensure timely remediation of issues.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to revenue and fixed asset processes.
Compliance and Coordination
- Review 'Prepared by Client' (PBC) tasks for timely and accurate submission to Tax, Global Accounting Team (GAT), and external auditors.
- Assist with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance reviews and documentation efforts.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in R2R activities.
- Support automation initiatives and the implementation of best practices across the team.
- Collaborate with IT and Finance Transformation teams to enhance system functionality.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation.
Experience
- 4+ years of progressive accounting, auditing or financial analysis experience.
- Previous experience managing or coordinating offshore teams is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Skills
- Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP and internal controls.
- Proficient in account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Effective team leadership and communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Onestream strongly preferred.
- Exposure to Audit board and Blackline is considered an asset.
