Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst will provide accurate, data-based insights into the organization’s ability to recover costs. Responsibilities include analyzing financial information, monitoring performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting financial forecasts and budgets.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assemble and summarize data to create reports on financial status and risks.
  2. Compare actual results with budgets, forecasts, and prior results to assess financial health.
  3. Monitor and report variances, identify trends, and suggest improvements to management.
  4. Produce monthly reports highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
  5. Determine operational costs by collecting data and attributing direct and indirect costs.
  6. Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Senior Management to prepare budgets and forecasts.
  7. Maintain a financial analysis database using Microsoft Access.
  8. Develop automated reports and processes to increase productivity.
  9. Create financial models, conduct benchmarking, and analyze processes.
  10. Contribute to process improvements and policy development.
  11. Support team efforts and respond to internal requests for financial information.
Job Qualifications
  • Financial designation (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) in progress or completed.
  • University degree in business, finance, or accounting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Strong operational financial knowledge and understanding of accounting regulations.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to produce professional reports.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Practical knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and diagnostics.
