Job Description :

Reporting to the Manager, Budgeting & Reporting, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Administering the hospital’s operating budget system
  • Conducting monthly functional center variance analysis to explain financial variances to managers
  • Supporting Cost Center Managers and Directors with financial inquiries and helping identify savings opportunities
  • Maintaining the statistical ledger
  • Generating ad hoc financial and statistical reports
  • Submitting statistical and trial balance data to MOH in compliance with MIS Guidelines
  • Processing/preparing and assisting Directors/Managers with Scarborough Health Network's operating and capital budgets
  • Attending program meetings as required
  • Acting as a liaison with other finance departments (Payroll, A/R, A/P, General Accounting) and assigned programs
Requirements :
  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Financial Management
  • Working towards CPA designation
  • Two years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial planning
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Understanding of hospital clinical/corporate structure and procedures
  • Attention to detail and ability to see the big picture
  • Experience with IT systems (Meditech, SAP), control processes, and system navigation
  • Advanced MS Excel and Access skills
  • Intermediate MS Word skills
  • Knowledge of MIS Standards for MOH reporting
  • Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and solve problems

  • Use of protective equipment and hazard reporting
  • Engagement in ethical conduct and appreciation of diversity
  • Excellent work performance and attendance
