Job summary

A leading financial services company in Ontario is looking for a Financial Analyst to prepare and validate financial data related to lending activity. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of financial reporting experience and be CPA progressing. You will work closely with internal teams ensuring timely and accurate financial reports. This position requires a strong in-office presence 5 days a week.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting, preferably in lending or financial services.
  • Proven ability to manage large volumes of financial data under tight timelines.
  • Strong knowledge of debt instruments, yield calculations, interest accruals, and derivatives.

Job description

Our client, a very large and respect public company located downtown is looking to hire a Financial Analyst on a full-time base. This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join a growing and very dynamic team.

***This role requires you to be in office 5 days a week

As the Financial Analyst your duties will include the following;

Lending Reporting

  • Prepare and validate high-volume financial data related to lending activity
  • Build and maintain balance sheets, income statements, debt yield calculations, and interest payment schedules
  • Review financial documents to ensure accuracy prior to technical review
  • Liaise with internal accounting teams and external stakeholders for data collation and clarification
  • Manage competing priorities with strong organization and attention to detail
Management Reporting
  • Support debt covenant monitoring and compliance reporting
  • Present and analyze financial statements (B/S and P&L) in the context of lending requirements
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reports for internal and external use
To be considered for this role, our client is looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications;
  • CPA in progress
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting, preferably in lending or financial services
  • Proven ability to manage large volumes of financial data under tight timelines
  • Strong knowledge of debt instruments, yield calculations, interest accruals, and derivatives
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a track record of working independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems
