Financial Analyst

Our client within the CPG/Retail space is looking to add a Financial Analyst to their team for a Permanent position. This role is based out of Mississauga, ON at their Corporate Head Office.

Overview

The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for providing senior management with timely reports and business analytics of product divisions, brands, and customers, focusing on current and historical sales performance and trends, as well as insights into future performance and performance against budget.

Job Functions

1. Assists with month-end, quarter-end, year-end close and publishes local and corporate reporting by the given deadlines.
2. Maintain product pricing in the system and resolve pricing discrepancies with sales support and marketing.
3. Analyze sales promotion and new product pricing proposals for management decision making.
4. Responsible for maintaining dealer programs in the system for month-end & year-end accruals calculation.
5. Prepare builder quotes and streamline builder-quoting process.
6. Verify and approve purchase orders to ensure accuracy of cost centers and GL’s.
7. Responsible for monthly cost center reporting and ensuring cost center responsible remains within budget.
8. Verify dealer credits for accuracy and adherence to policies and guidelines.
9. Assists in the preparation of annual business planning and periodic forecasting.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Day to Day

Each day will involve standard tasks (repetitive) such as reporting, pricing, analysis, etc. This will take up about half of their day. The other half of the day is dependent on miscellaneous requests. Some days will involve forecasting, business planning, or year end, which may prioritize other tasks. The candidate will frequently interact with the sales teams, and negotiations may occur regarding customer margins. Effective communication is a key piece in this position.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MUST HAVE 1: 2-3 Years Experience in budgeting, forecasting, pricing, financial reporting, and analysis (Max 5 years)

- Exposure to med-large organizations

MUST HAVE 2: Strong communication, verbal and written

*Education: Four-Year University Accounting*

Nice to Have's:

1. Experience with SAP, Power BI, and Excel Macros (VBA) is an asset.
2. Certificate Enrollment in CPA Program.
3. System Implementation Experience (SAP S4/HANA).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68,974.00 - $91,565.00/yr.
