Job summary

EllisDon in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Accounting Team Lead and Finance Manager with month-end close activities for Canadian and international operations, and to generate reports from the financial system for stakeholders.

You will analyze financial data, prepare monthly/annual statements, assist with variance analysis, monitor receivables, support audits, ensure compliance, and collaborate across locations to optimize financial performance for the company.

Qualifications

• 3 years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• 2+ years of experience supporting month-end close activities.
• Minimum two-year diploma in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong financial accounting analysis experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 (D365) is an asset.
• Must work full-time in office in Mississauga, ON.

Responsibilities

• Support the Accounting Team Lead and Finance Manager by taking responsibility for the month-end close activities for Canadian and International (Ireland and U.S.) operations.
• Generate reports out of financial/accounting system and disseminate information in a timely manner to those who require it within EDFS (EllisDon Facilities Services).
• Analyze periodic financial data to help in performing financial due diligence on the financial statements.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, along with supporting schedules and documentation, for review.
• Assist in performing variance analysis for profit & loss statements for each site on a monthly basis.
• Monitor the aged receivables to ensure funds are being collected.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation and providing clear explanations in response to audit inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with internal/external audit requirements.
• Ensure MSP (Monthly Service Payment) billings are in accordance with service agreements for each site.
• Ensure all additional billings are in agreement with the financial close and service agreements.
• Review monthly Performance Monitoring Reports (PMR) for each of the sites and prepare sections of the monthly operational report to the management.
• Support the Operations team by providing financial guidance and responding to questions related to P&L results, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance.
• Ad-hoc projects for the Accounting Team Lead and Finance Manager.

Is this the right role for you?

• You have a strong financial accounting analysis experience.
• You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency with functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, and other advanced formulas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders across multiple locations/regions including Canada, Ireland and U.S.
• Ideally have experience with Facilities Management or property management.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is considered an asset.
• Must be able to work full-time in office in Mississauga, ON.

The annual salary range for this role is $70,000-$85,000.
