Job description

We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual to join our client's accounting and finance team as a Financial Analyst. Our client is a well-established manufacturing company operating within the construction and agriculture sectors, with multiple offices across Canada. This position is based in their Stoney Creek office and reports to the Controller and VP of Finance.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily bank account reconciliations and transaction postings.
2. Prepare month-end bank reconciliations for all operating accounts.
3. Assist with posting cash receipts from various sources.
4. Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger to general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
5. Review and process credit applications from customers.
6. Manage inventory reconciliations and assist with annual inventory counts.
7. Ensure inventory pricing accuracy and reconcile parts inventory.
8. Review daily cycle counts and resolve costing discrepancies.
9. Manage work-in-progress reconciliations and prepaid expenses amortization.
10. Oversee vendor deposits, capital assets, depreciation, and accounts payable reconciliations.
11. Review and approve employee expenses and process vendor billing.
12. Perform foreign exchange analysis and vendor invoice reconciliations.
13. Support accounts payable activities, including follow-ups on unmatched receipts and floor plan financing reconciliations.
14. Maintain accrual accounts and assist with month-end and year-end schedules and reporting packages.
15. Support environmental compliance and government reporting requirements.
16. Prepare and remit tax payments and returns.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
