This position is based out of Toronto. McCarthy Tétrault employees benefit from a hybrid work environment.

As a Financial Analyst, you will be:

1. Prepare monthly department expense reports and management reporting packages.
2. Assist with the preparation of executive, board, and budget briefings.
3. Assist with various other reports and summaries as required.
4. Preparation of monthly close journal entries.
5. Preparation of various account reconciliations.
6. Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger in accordance with the capital assets policy.
7. Track, report, and compare to budget the committed and projected entity expenditures for fixed assets.
8. Prepare intercompany account analysis and other reconciliations as requested.
9. Support the audit and taxation processes.
10. Prepare insurance renewal documentation.
11. Assist with various finance projects, partnering with other functional groups on projects impacting finance.
12. Undertake business process efficiency reviews, taking ownership of tasks and system automation opportunities.

As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:

1. CPA designation or working towards the CPA.
2. Minimum 3 years of accounting or finance experience or a related undergraduate degree.
3. Advanced Excel skills, including familiarity with Pivot Tables, H-Lookup, V-Lookup, Macros, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
4. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
5. High ownership and accountability.
6. Strong analytical skills and accounting technical knowledge.
7. Understanding of the Canadian tax rules is an asset.
8. Database and Business Intelligence experience (e.g., SQL or other database software) is an asset.
