Job summary

Ketek Group Inc. in Edmonton seeks a Financial Analyst to analyze financial reports, support accounting and finance teams, and provide management with actionable insights to improve revenues and reduce expenses.

The ideal candidate holds a accounting degree, CPA preferred, and can work independently or in a team, with strong Excel/Google skills and attention to detail. This role is office-based in Canada, with standard business hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a basic understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Complete journal entries in the general ledger and subledgers to ensure accuracy.
• Review Aged Accounts Receivables to ensure accurate billing.
• Support the Accounting and Finance teams.
• Provide financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to management.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet and profit/loss statements to summarize financial status.
• Assist in preparing year-end working papers.
• Prepare monthly GST and PST remittances.
• Perform monthly expense allocations, depreciation, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure adherence to Company policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Represent the Company in alignment with Management's values and Corporate Vision and Mission Statements.

POSITION BACKGROUND

The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial reports in order to provide leadership teams with essential information to understand what has changed across the business and why. This person will help to weigh complex risks and assist in choosing the best path forward to maximize revenues and reduce expenses.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Obtain and maintain a basic understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Complete journal entries in the general ledger and subledgers to ensure accuracy.
• Review Aged Accounts Receivables to ensure accurate billing.
• Support the Accounting and Finance teams.
• Provide financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to management.
• Compile and analyze account information to prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile selected balance sheet accounts monthly, including subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet and profit/loss statements to summarize financial status.
• Assist in preparing year-end working papers.
• Prepare monthly GST and PST remittances.
• Perform monthly expense allocations, depreciation, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure adherence to Company policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Represent the Company in alignment with Management's values and Corporate Vision and Mission Statements.
