Job description

Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has proven experience in all aspects of financial management, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

  1. Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, cash flow, banking, etc.
  2. Prepare budgets and financial forecasts, along with monthly financial statements and reports.
  3. Provide strategic financial and cash flow guidance to the company’s principals and assist in the financial management of the company.
  4. Assist with managing financial relationships with the company’s stakeholders.
  5. Prepare year-end working papers and financial statements for all entities.
  6. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  7. Develop and document business policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  8. Assist with overseeing general operation that may include but not limited to IT, property management, and HR.

Your strengths include :

  1. 5+ years of combined accounting and finance experience.
  2. Proven working experience as a senior accountant and/or leadership role of at least 3 years is an asset.
  3. Experience in a professional office environment is an asset.
  4. Extensive ASPE knowledge.
  5. Excellent problem solving using critical thinking, experience and resources.
