Job Title: Financial Analyst

Department: Finance & Logistics

Reporting to: Plant Controller

Location: Chatham

Greenfield is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our growing team.

Position Overview: The Financial Analyst will work as part of an overall team to support the finance and logistics functions of the Chatham location. The individual must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks. It is expected that this person will help to solve practical problems using a team approach.

Your Experience Should Include

  • Completion of a Finance, Accounting, and/or Business degree is preferred.
  • One to three years of relevant business and analysis experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills required.
    • Must be able to collect, consolidate, analyze, interpret information from multiple sources.
  • Competent at managing competing priorities under varying deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Presentations, and Visio.
Job Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Company health and safety, environmental, and quality policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Fuel invoicing:
    • Ensure accuracy of shipping documents (BOLs) and make corrections as required.
    • European Vessel analytics including billing, adjustments, brokerage fees and updated margin status.
    • Domestic fuel analytics including billing, adjustments, and updated margin status.
    • Support the lab/shipping department with HPA paperwork verification and auditing.
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Monitor the AP Email address and distribute invoices for approval/receiving by Plant Maintenance Purchaser and the lab staff.
    • Code freight invoices accurately and obtain approvals.
    • Track invoices and collate for processing twice per week by head office.
    • Facilitate the set-up of new vendors, follow up on vendor requests and answer inquiries by head office.
  • Month-end General Accounting:
    • Prepare Accounts Payable accruals detailing outstanding purchase order obligations.
    • Analyze contract allocations for operational technology, cleaning contracts, etc.
    • Prepare Journal Entries for Month End including but not limited to Inventory, SIT, Corn allocation, etc.
    • Balance Sheet Analysis including Capital projects and assets accounts.
    • Prepare, track, and balance all chemical receipts and input accruals as necessary. Update pricing and analyze usage. Prepare analytical variances to budget.
    • Run check schedule and perform adjusting entries.
    • Prepare SIT for agricultural, ethanol and HPA shipments. Analyze variances to budget. Track demurrage charges.
    • Perform agricultural, ethanol and HPA freight accrual. Provide variances to budget.
    • Prepare G/L account reconciliations and analyze variances to budget.
    • Prepare month end financial presentation for senior lead team with the Plant Controller.
    • Assist with Year End reconciliations.
  • Review departmental spend with managers monthly/more often as required.
  • Update natural gas inventory spreadsheet and post inter-company invoices.
  • Work with Plant controller to develop and maintain audit trails and assist in the collection and analysis of information used in preparing for audits.
  • Manage day to day vendor interactions (Cintas, Office Cleaning Contractor, Culligan).
  • Provide guidance and assistance with good Navision practices.
